Medication
Medication is one of the categories of actions players can take to progress through the game and collect ideas. Use of Medication will increase Mental Darkness and Impact, and would lead to the deterioration of Ame-chan's wellbeing in exchange for the stress relief that she receives.
The desktop icon is represented by a pack of Depaz pills, as well as a blue and pink pill onto its left side (which does not exist in-game, at least in this particular depiction, although it may represent an Embian pill). It is vertically the 4th icon on the Desktop, located just below the Sleep icon and just above the Internet icon.
Although medications are exclusive to PC, their concept as a gameplay mechanic isn't. In the Nintendo Switch version of the game, they are replaced with Magicals, so that they are depicted as more family-friendly. However, the functions of magicals are the same as the medications that they replace.
If the follower count reaches 1 million and stream Internet Angel 5: "The Internet Angel" in advance, then Ame-chan will refuse to take Medication, and this option will no longer be available.
Mechanics
When the player clicks on the Medication icon on PC, each of the unlocked medications will be represented in a separate window, listing what they are, what effects and side effects they have, and any notes Ame has on them. For example, assuming the player has less than 20 mental darkness, if the player clicks on the Medication icon, the window showcasing Depaz will be opened. However, if the player has 80+ mental darkness (having this would have all of the medications unlocked) and then clicked on Medication, individual windows for all of the different medications will be unlocked.
Having mental darkness decreased to a certain threshold (for example, from having at least 20 mental darkness to less than that) will lock the previously unlocked medication(s), unless the mental darkness is regained.
For the Depaz, if the player clicks on the medication icon and tries to take a pill, they won't be able to do so, because there is no action button that allows them to take this dose. Clicking on the Depaz icon twice will make Ame take 2 Depaz pills and clicking the Dylsem icon once will make Ame take 1/4ths of the Depaz pills. Taking those recommended dosages will yield a "Take" button, implying that would be the recommended dosage to slightly reduce Stress and Mental Darkness, as well as taking one time slot. Anything more than that for those 2 medications will put a "GO!" button instead, implying overdose, and those will take 2 time slots, as well as have variable effects, depending on the current Mental Darkness of the player.
There are no recommended dosages for Embian (although for Embian in particular, there used to be), Magic Smoke, and Magic Paper, and their icons to be able to take any amount of those medications aren't clickable either. For those 3 medications, the button to take them will immediately appear once their windows are opened.

Depaz
Depaz is available at the very beginning of the game. Recommended dosage for this medication is 2. Anything more than that would make Ame overdose.

The first 4 uses unlock diary entries on the Desktop. If Conspiracy Theories 5 has been done, using Magic Paper starts the Welcome To My Religion ending.

- Each of their drugs are based on real medications:
- Depaz is based on Benzodiazepine.
- Dylsem is based on Dextromethorphan.
- Dylsem is also an anagram of "delsym".
- Embian is based on Zolpidem.
- Embian is also an anagram of "ambien".
- Magic Smoke/Grass is based on Cannabis.
- Magic Paper is based on LSD.
- In earlier versions of the game, the player used to be able to individually take Embian pills. The underdose, recommended dose, and overdose of Embian pills were the same as those of Depaz pills: the player had no option of taking 1 Embian pill at once, but they could take 2 as the recommended dose to slightly reduce their stress and mental darkness, and any more than that would make them overdose.
- At one point, this has changed. Now, clicking on the Medication icon while having this medication unlocked would immediately present a "GO!" option, which means there is no option but to overdose with these pills. The player could no longer click on the icon and take pills from there.
