These actions will increase Ame's stress.
- Streams (barring Internet angel streams)
- Social media
- /st/ (<60 mental darkness)
- Ignoring JINE messages
The Task Manager tab provides a view of Ame-chan's four main statistics — followers, stress, affection, and mental darkness. Her follower count is the only stat which cannot go down and does not reflect on her current emotional state. The rest of her stats reflect her emotional state and are subject to gains and losses. Her three emotional stats each start with a maximum capacity of 100.
Each emotional statistic has thresholds which will progress said emotion into its next stage.
Depending on the threshold of her emotional stats, several events may occur. Ame may receive a random, minor change in stats at any time — such as receiving +1 stress if her mental darkness is at a high threshold. Ame may also perform a desktop activity without player input, yielding the activity's expected stat changes. Lastly, several major story events can occur as a result of her current state, which may unlock or close off entire endings and other events. Emotional stats may also cause changes that do not directly affect gameplay. Scripted JINE messages, such as follower milestone celebrations, can be altered depending on her current state. In this scenario, the emotional stats simply alter flavor text.
this shows you how many people are looking at my social media and streams. the more people watch, the more they fulfill my need for approval! our goal is to make this number as big as possible! |
Ame's follower count is a unique statistic compared to her other three stats in that it does not directly represent her emotional state. The only two activities which can increase her follower count are Tweeter and streaming. The exact amount of followers Ame will gain after a given stream is reliant on numerous factors; the stream's base stats, the player's current follower count, and stream-specific multipliers can all influence Ame's follower gain to varying degrees. Every few days, Ame will reflect on her current amount of followers and give a negative or positive response if she perceives stagnation or growth in her follower count. Additionally, surpassing certain follower thresholds allows Ame to unlock levels 3, 4, and 5 of streaming topics. She must attain 10k, 100k, and 250k followers respectively. Ame will repeatedly emphasize the importance of her follower count, which is reflected in how it is the Task Manager stat that has the most influence over which endings and achievements the player can obtain. Surpassing 10k followers is necessary to continue the game after Day 10, and several endings will be unobtainable without reaching further thresholds.
this shows you how much pressure im feeling. i might start acting weird if it gets too high, so watch out! i may even become more scared of the internet by day... |
Ame's stress is the first of three statistics representing her emotional state, reflecting how distressed she is. It is the emotional stat most heavily influenced through streams, which usually accumulate high amounts of stress, serving as the main limiting stat with regards to how often Ame is able to perform streams. At 80+ stress, Ame will stop leaving daily JINE messages for the player, but she will still send certain types of special messages, such as the messages celebrating follower milestones. Out of all three emotional stats, stress influences gameplay the most; it has the potential to cause Darkness streams without player input, it is the emotional stat most consistently affected through streams, and can heavily bar the player from experiencing certain gameplay events.

These actions will decrease Ame's stress.
If the player starts two consecutive Days with 80+ stress, a special stress event will occur on Noon of the second Day. This event will cause Ame to receive -15 stress, -20 affection and +10 mental darkness. This is the first of two events needed to permanently increase Ame's stress capacity.
If the player starts the next Day with 100 stress, a special stress event will occur on Noon of said Day. This event will cause Ame to receive -20 stress, -35 affection, and +10 mental darkness. By the end of this event, Ame's maximum stress capacity will permanently increase from 100 to 120. Note that the player must have already experienced the first stress event in order for this second event to occur.
this displays how much i love you! it'd be sad if i don't love you enough, but if i love you TOO much i might be hard to handle. so try to strike a good balance, ok? <3 |
Ame's affection is the second of three statistics representing her emotional state, reflecting how much love she feels for P-Chan. It is the emotional stat least affected through streams, but it can incur heavy losses from Sexy Streams and ASMR Streams.
These actions will increase Ame's affection.
These actions will decrease Ame's affection.
If Ame has 80+ affection after Night of Day 23, a special affection event will occur when the player presses "Go to Tomorrow." This leads into a scripted Go Out event on Noon of Day 24 which makes Ame receive -10 stress and +6 affection. By the end of this event, Ame's maximum affection capacity will permanently increase from 100 to 120.
Ame texts P-Chan affectionately, asking if they can accompany her in her visit to her parents' house in order to "settle things from the past." P-Chan agrees, to which Ame responds happily. On Noon of Day 24, the player is forced into a Go Out event which progresses the Day into Night, with Ame leaving a thankful JINE message and making two Twits on her public and private Tweeter accounts respectively.
[Night of Day 23]
JINE
thank you!! you really are the only one for me... you are my whole world |
[Noon of Day 24]

p-chan met the parents so we're practically married now!! |
this lets you know how im doing mentally. how well i cope with reality will change depending on the numbers. it might have a bigger influence on my future rather than my present state in the game! |
Ame's mental darkness is the third of three statistics representing her emotional state, reflecting her mental health. In terms of how often mental darkness is influenced through streams, it gets affected less often than stress but more often than affection, making it the second-most affected stat in this regard. Out of all three emotional stats, mental darkness influences short-term gameplay the least, mostly serving as a determining factor for several endings rather than an immediate penalty or reward. Notably, however, is that more drugs will become available to the player as Ame's mental darkness increases.

This table summarizes key gameplay characteristics of Ame's four statistics.

This table displays all viewable flavor text in the speech bubbles that pop up alongside an emotional statistic whenever its value crosses from one threshold to another. For every emotional stat, there is exactly one line of flavor text for all of its possible thresholds, serving as another method for the player to be informed on their current stats' thresholds.

---|---|---|---|---|---|
Stress | Let's go let's go! | I can keep going! | I'm kind of tired... | I hate this | Please kill me |

Under most circumstances, the numbers displaying Ame's current level of stress, affection, and mental darkness will be depicted as their usual color and remain completely static. However, under certain circumstances, these numbers will turn red and visibly shake. For the purposes of giving visual feedback to the player, this trait can be considered a stat's "warning sign."
The warning signs for affection and mental darkness correlate with GAME OVER values; if their respective warning signs occur, the player will receive a GAME OVER if the value remains the same when Night arrives. The warning sign for stress, however, does not directly correlate with its GAME OVER value; stress only causes a GAME OVER at the exact value of 120. Thus, the warning sign for stress likely correlates with Ame's inability to send JINE messages and the fact that maintaining 80+ stress can cause the first stress event.
