Painful Future
Painful Future is an ending in NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD, represented by the 8th ending slot in the Main Menu and GAME OVER screens. An achievement of the same name is unlocked upon experiencing the ending.
Requirement
To achieve this ending, the player must perform Breakdown Stream 5: "I AM LEGEND".

The Breakdown Stream series of streams leads to Ame becoming progressively more exhausted, stressed, and reckless about her own mental health and streaming career. As she continues to lash out at the audience on public streams, her stress culminates in her fifth and final stream, wherein she completely neglects to don her typical KAngel outfit and persona. Instead, she smokes on-camera, bewildering her audience and getting banned from the streaming site as a result. People then comment on /st/, expressing mixed opinions of her and lamenting the end of her career.

Trivia
- The achievement icon represents a butterfly. It is slightly edited and comes from an unused asset, which depicts a drawing of a pixelated environment, featuring the butterfly itself, a grassy hill, mountains, a teal sky, a white horse, Japanese text on the top left corner, and the game logo on the bottom right corner.
- The ending description is a reference to the opening line of the song Mad World by music group Tears for Fears.
- The ending title in the Japanese version (and other languages) is called "脳Future".
