Stream

Streams are the most crucial desktop activity the player can perform, serving as a fundamental component of the basic gameplay loop. They can only be performed during Night of a given Day and are the primary activity through which Ame will attain followers. There are 12 unique streaming topics that can be performed via the Streams tab. Most topics have five different levels to it, and each consecutive level can only be unlocked if the player has experienced its prior level. For example, Chat & Chill 2 cannot be unlocked if the player has not yet experienced Chat & Chill 1. Each stream has completely unique dialogue associated with it, as well as differing levels of stat gains and losses.

Stream Ideas

To unlock streams, the player must perform its required desktop activity. If an activity has an exclamation mark on its icon, it will unlock a stream upon completion. Upon performing said activity, Ame will text the player on JINE, giving flavor text that explains how her recent activity has given her inspiration for a streaming idea. The game will then show a pop-up window, labeled "Epiphany," which displays the exact stream they have unlocked. Additionally, the player must meet certain follower thresholds in order to unlock streams past level 2. Until they have met these thresholds, no desktop activities will unlock level 3+ of a stream topic.

• For level 3 of a stream topic, Ame must have 10k followers.
• For level 4 of a stream topic, Ame must have 100k followers.
• For level 5 of a stream topic, Ame must have 250k followers.
  
  

Internet Angel streams are an exception to this rule, and require completely different follower thresholds.

Stream Gameplay

Clicking on the Stream tab during Night will allow the player to perform any level of any streaming topic they have unlocked. The player can hover their cursor over a stream to view its respective stat changes. Once a stream has been confirmed, a short animation will play, accompanied with music, where Ame changes into her KAngel outfit and goes live for her stream. This sequence can be skipped. Afterward, the stream begins.

During a stream, KAngel will address the audience with various lines of dialogue. At the same time, the stream's chat will be gradually filled in with different comments left by her viewers. The player is free to press a skip button at any point, immediately ending the stream.

Stream Speed

The player can press a button above the stream chat which cycles through three different levels of speed to determine how fast the overall stream progresses. This button is labelled "As Usual" for the slowest level, "Overexcited Rambler" for a faster level, and "Blue Hedgehog" for the fastest level. By default, stream speed is at "As Usual". The game keeps track of the player's currently selected stream speed and will preserve it for future streams.

Deleting Comments

The player can delete any comments during a stream, barring superchats. Deleting certain comments will make Ame receive -1 stress for each deleted comment. There is no negative gameplay effect from deleting comments; Ame either receives -1 stress or does not receive any stat change. This allows the player to delete any comment without any restriction or punishment, which may be helpful if they intend to lower Ame's stress as much as possible.

Note that deleting a comment will only subtract stress from Ame's preexisting pool of stress. It will not subtract from the amount of stress that she will receive by the end of a stream. For example, if Ame has 0 stress before a stream begins, deleting comments will serve no functional purpose. Additionally, skipping a stream may mean that the player will miss out on opportunities to reduce Ame's stress.

Superchats

During a stream, a viewer may leave a superchat. These special comments are outlined in a vibrant color, accompanied with a unique sound effect, and can never be deleted by the player. Though several superchats may be left during the stream, the player can only choose a maximum of two superchats to highlight. If the player has already highlighted two superchats and selects a new superchat, the new superchat will overwrite the oldest highlighted superchat. The player is also not allowed to re-highlight a superchat that has been overwritten. Highlighting a superchat will prompt KAngel to read it out loud toward the end of her stream, giving it a response. Superchats are solely an opportunity for the player to experience additional flavor text and do not affect gameplay otherwise.

Static Streams

Certain streams will be static in nature. These streams do not allow the player to delete any comments or highlight any superchats. The stream chat is tinted gray to signify this. When this occurs, text in the bottom-left corner of the screen will display "We're not reading comments for this stream." Any streams that have this unique trait can be safely skipped, as there is no opportunity for stress reduction.

All level 5 streams are static streams. Internet Angel streams are an exception, where every level is a static stream. Additionally, almost every scripted stream is a static stream.

Note that Internet Angel streams will overwrite each other if their prior levels are not streamed before their consecutive levels are unlocked. For example, if Internet Angel 1 is not streamed before the player attains 100k followers, the player will unlock Internet Angel 2 and will be permanently barred from performing Internet Angel 1.

Stream-based Endings

Four of the twelve stream topics are unique in that their level 5 streams will unlock certain endings. Two of these endings are triggered directly upon streaming a level 5 stream, which renders it impossible to continue the game afterward. Therefore, even though the game displays stat changes for all streaming topics, it is not actually possible to reap the rewards of these two streams in particular.

• Painful Future will begin immediately after streaming Breakdown Stream 5: "I AM LEGEND".
• Fallen Angel will begin immediately after streaming Sexy Stream 5: "I'll be in something that begins with P and ends in O!"
• Welcome To My Religion is unlocked after streaming Conpiracy Theories 5: "The Light". The ending itself does not begin until the player uses magic paper during Noon.
• Galactic Express is unlocked after streaming Netlore 5: "KAngel". The ending itself does not begin until the player first overdoses on any drug during Noon, then goes out to the Galactic Rail at Night.

Scripted Streams

These streams are notable for not being directly accessed through the Stream tab and are typically not visible on said tab. Instead, these streams are triggered through unique conditions and events that may deviate from the usual method of unlocking new streams. In terms of gameplay, these are usually not considered proper streams but may instead serve a narrative or cutscene purpose.

• Ame's Day 1 stream will always take place. This is the only scripted stream that is also not static.
• Cucked and its respective stream is unlocked through reaching Night of the current Day with 0 affection.
• The first Darkness stream is unlocked through starting two consecutive Days with 80+ stress. The second Darkness stream is unlocked through starting a Day with 100 stress.
• Several Internet Overdose streams will automatically play out if the player attains a stress capacity of 120 before reaching Day 24 with 80+ stress.
• Welcome To My Religion and its respective stream can be unlocked after streaming Conspiracy Theories 5: "The Light". The player must then take magic paper during Noon.
• Galactic Express and its respective stream can be unlocked after streaming Netlore 5: "KAngel". The player must then overdose on any drug during Noon and take the Galactic Rail at Night.
• There Are No Angels and its respective stream is unlocked through reaching Day 30 with <500k followers, <60 affection and 60+ mental darkness.
• (Un)happy End World and its respective stream is unlocked through reaching Day 30 with 1M+ followers and 80+ affection.
• Do You Love Me? and its respective stream is unlocked through streaming Internet Angel 5: "The Internet Angel," then reaching Day 30 with 80+ affection and 80+ mental darkness.
• The first DARK ANGEL stream is unlocked through streaming Internet Angel 5: "The Internet Angel" with a stress capacity of 120. The second DARK ANGEL stream automatically plays out soon after.
• Internet Runaway Angel: Be Invoked and its respective stream is unlocked through attaining 9,999,999 followers.

Stream Calculations

Main article: Game Action Mechanics

The amount of followers that Ame gains is subject to several calculations and stream bonuses. After performing a stream, the player's followers will increase by a base amount, which can be referred to as the Base Followers Gain, or BFG. If the player has <10k followers, BFG is calculated as 0.01 * x. Otherwise, BFG is calculated as 25 * log_10(x). The variable "x" represents the player's current followers.

The game will then consider a stream's Stream Follower Multiplier, or SFM. The end result of this calculation can be called the Stream Followers Gain, or SFG. SFG is calculated as BFG * SFM. For example, if the stream has an SFM of 3, the game will calculate BFG * 3, and that result will yield the SFG.

This table displays a summary of the stats Ame will receive after performing certain streaming topics. Note that every stream rewards the player with +1 Communication.

Furthermore, each stream is subject to additional multipliers accumulated through other means, such as stream streak bonuses, pre-stream alerts, communication bonuses or stream-specific bonuses that can be earned via desktop activities.

Generic Stream Bonuses

• Stream Streak Bonus is calculated as SFG * (1 + x), with "x" representing the amount of consecutive days the player has been streaming.
• Pre-stream Alert is calculated as SFG * 1.2 if the player has at least 1 Pre-Stream Alert bonus. It does not stack with additional Pre-Stream Alerts.
• Communication Bonus is calculated as SFG * (1 + 0.1 * x), with "x" representing the current number of Communication Bonuses the player has stacked up.

Specific Stream Bonuses

Certain streams have unique bonuses associated with them. Gamer Girl affects Letsplay, Cinephile affects Nerd Talk, Impact affects both Breakdown Stream and Darkness, Experience affects both ASMR and Sexy Stream, and Rabbit Hole affects every stream but can only be attained through Conspiracy Theories. Of these five bonuses, all except Rabbit Hole give the player a positive multiplier.

• Any positive bonus is calculated as SFG * (1 + 0.5 * x), with "x" representing the current number of a given bonus that the player has stacked up.
• Rabbit Hole, the only negative bonus, is calculated as SFG * (1 - 0.01 * x), with "x" representing the current number of Rabbit Hole Bonuses the player has stacked up.

Conflicting Displays

Recent patches have updated the manner in which the value of generic and specific stream bonuses are displayed to the player. Hovering over a desktop activity will display the pre-calculated value of a stream bonus, whereas hovering over a stream will display the exact value of a stream bonus.
For example, if the player hovers over the Tweeter desktop activity, the game will display Pre-stream Alert as going into 1, which is its pre-calculated value.

However, when hovering over a stream, the game will display the Pre-Stream Alert as 1.2, which is its exact value.

The former display requires the player to calculate the value themselves. In this example, the player would have to know that Pre-stream Alert is calculated as "SFG * 1.2" if the bonus is at a count of 1 or higher. However, the latter display informs the player of its exact value, 1.2, which renders any prior calculations or considerations obsolete.
